Brightona would like to thank everyone for their support over the years
Below are some of the comments received.
“Thoroughly good day, enjoyed by all fab as always, roll on next year!!!”
Ciir Brian Fitch, Mayor of Brighton & Hove
“The Mayoress and I were delighted to support Brightona at their annual event in October; certainly less surprised than our neighbours when a splendid collection of trikes and bikes revved up to our house to collect us. Though the Mayoress is svelte and elegant by nature she was thrilled to jump into some jeans for the ride and doubly pleased when she realised that she would not have to wear a helmet – thereby saving her carefully coiffured hair – and enabling her to really rock her ‘biker chick’ chic!
The journey to the seafront was fun and a sight to behold for onlookers as our police escort kept us moving at a steady pace. Madeira Drive itself was thronged and the Mayoress and I shared a quick jive on arrival – only to be caught by a photographer for posterity… so much for the dignity of office! Brightona do so much for charity and add so much to the reputation of our city; where else would a bunch of bikers be raising money for those less able? Only in Brighton & Hove; and as Mayor this year I was delighted to be given the ride of a lifetime.”
Sutton, Brightona Volunteer
“This year was my first year volunteering for the Brightona at their three events and I’ve really enjoyed helping out. Brightona is a great event raising money for a great cause and I will definitely be volunteering next year!”
Robert Every, Brightona
“Brightona 2014, one of the best ever held. The annual Brightona ride out to escort the Mayor of Brighton and Hove to open the event was led by organiser Abby Goldin assisted by 2 quick response vehicles and a Police motorcycle outrider. The Mayor Brian Fitch was accompanied by his wife Norah who rode on the back of Abby’s Harley Davidson trike leaving the Mayor to ride pillion on a my Harley Davidson motorcycle to the event.
Thousands of bikers descended onto Brighton seafront to enjoy the bands on 3 stages, admire the custom bikes or make those special purchases from any one of the trade stalls up and down Madeira Drive. The event helped the Brightona raise a total of £26,000 this year for the Royal Sussex County Hospital’s Cardiac unit.”
“As a Brightona Rider and Volunteer, I arrived at 5am to setup on the day with Abby and worked with many others to provide an outstanding event to raise funds for a worthy cause and was proud to attend on the ride in with the Mayor and Mayoress of Brighton. After a full hard days work I sat down on Madiera drive at 6pm for a coffee and chat with friends. Although quite exhausted I smiled and bid fair well to the last few remaining and rode home. See you all next year. Ride safe andbe well.”
“Hope you all had a good time at Brightona this year. It was a real good day. I would like to thank all the stall holders and volunteers and hope you will all attend next year. All ride safely throughout the year and I look forward to seeing you all next year 2015.”

“It’s always a good day out for a brilliant cause with some excellent peeps!!”
“Well, another successful Brightona and what a wonderful day it was. We had some fantastic bands this year and we would like to give them a big thank you for giving up their time and playing free as their contributions to the charity. Thank you also Mark from Pitch Black for supplying the stages and PA systems etc. Many thanks to Janine and Peter from Harrison Billet who put all their hard work into running the great custom show for yet another year!
Thanks to our new security team Concierge & Security Ltd. Thanks to Ian Taylor and Jo Osborne from Brighton and Hove City Council for letting us use Madeira Drive. Thanks to Brighton Police for all their help. Thanks to all the volunteers who came to help this year and last but not least thanks to all the good people who give up their time and energy for no reward throughout the year apart from the satisfaction of knowing that they have helped many heart patients in some way.”

“Massive well done to everyone who either worked on the day or turned up to enjoy the event. The rain was not going to stop us having fun and raising money. Fantastic team work as always.”
